Uncle Henry´s Universe.

About the blog

I have no heavy training... Barely Elementary School. Preferred the wilderness, it became my university, but I got muddy boots and experience instead of School knowledge so my English was therefore quite inadequate. This blog is a project to improve my skills in English language.

We all have our own universe, welcome to visit mine.

Extortion!

Birding Posted on Tue, October 23, 2012 21:40

Eventually you give up when calumnies gets too rough, when the knocking on the window sill eating into your head, and when everyone´s eyes are on you, and they have that killing gaze!

I´m talking about great tits…

They´ve been nagging for weeks now and tonight I gave up. Seasonal bird feeding is started. I barely had time to get the spruce twigs on the roof before the first guests landed. Guess who they were? Great tits of course, herds of them. Hungrier than Egypt´s locusts, they will cost me a fortune this winter.

And I love it – of course!

BEYOND THAT WASTELAND

I wonder Posted on Sun, October 21, 2012 12:52

For those who are able to watch Swedish television, I would recall the short film “Beyond That Wasteland”, tonight at TV2, 19:50. (Just before Babel, one of Swedish television stunning cultural programs.)

Okay, maybe there´s a disqualification… we are from the same clan ;-), but I actually think Daniel produces damn good looking creations. Jenny is for me a fairly new acquaintance musically, but I really like her music. It´s rocking so even an old man starts to shake.

The film deals with a difficult and sensitive subject, it will be very exciting to see the results.

Hug me!

I wonder Posted on Thu, October 18, 2012 18:59

Hey, come and pat me! Oh no…it´s not rabies. I have acidic stomach, it´s just Novalucol you now.

Come on now! Just want to have a little tenderness…

Damn it, come here or I spit on you!

Fucking shit, man! Should it be so hard to give some love!

I really need a huuug!

Siberian jay.

Nature Conservation Posted on Thu, October 11, 2012 21:29

We were completed with the marking of the nature reserve boundary of Mammasberg today. Mammasberg in Swedish means Mother Mountain in English, though presumably the name comes from old Savolax Finnish and means something else. We call it nowadays for Mammadag, as a tribute to our favorite Turkish mountain – Babadag! (Father Mountain) 🙂

I was joined for a while during work by a curious Siberian jay. It is always nice when they come to visit. Had the phone only to shoot with, and the jay was not as intrusive as I wanted, but it became a pretty cozy picture anyway. (iPhone 4s)

Even with a generous partial enlargement!

Revenge!

I wonder Posted on Sun, October 07, 2012 11:59

Tomorrow begins the annual moose hunt. Dear God, help the hunters to find the damn tree crusher that killed our Red Riding Hood! ( se previos post, more wolves…)How can an animal be so cruel? Not even a wolf had been so heartless; it had at the most eaten grandmother…

The upcoming Christmas will not be the same as before, I mean, yellow apple sauce on the ham! Christmas is red not yellow! One will feel like an Easter chicken. The world is truly a cruel place! smiley

Iron Horse!

Nature Conservation Posted on Mon, October 01, 2012 21:20

Iron Horse is a remarkable machine. Easy to love, but also to hate when the terrain is rocky and difficult. There are several accessories but loading surface belongs to my favorite. I think it´s good for my back to avoid carrying heavy larch poles up steep hills.

On flat ground, especially on the bog, the machine works like a dream. To mark nature reserve boundary went this day as a dance!

At work again!

Nature Conservation Posted on Sat, September 29, 2012 19:56

After the holidays, the working week has been varied. Have had time for a flat tire on our company car, have marked boundaries for some nature reserves and received a new toilet for Lisselåsen Nature Reserve.

I have also managed to be two days on course to get permission to use the brushcutter. (A tool I have been working with most of the professional life.)

The picture shows the teacher and two other students, all followers of the soft values, such as toddlers, puppies and crushed birch saplings! smiley

Yesterday was the handover of the new nature reserve Björnhultet. Fredrik Wilde, the man who created it, proudly displays his creation for the trustee Johanna Malmgren. The poor man, who is coming to perform all the heavy work, is behind the camera.

Tandem Fligth over Öludeniz!

PG / PPG Posted on Sun, September 23, 2012 14:50

Thanks to Oliver Thurmann who offered my wife a tandem flight, we were given the opportunity to fly paraglider together again, for the first time since the early nineties. The blue, white and orange paraglider is my Ozone Geo 2, a reliable friend when thermals shakes the fabric.

Some acro!

A little vacation.

PG / PPG Posted on Fri, September 21, 2012 10:32

Took off for a week and went to Oludeniz in Turkey with a really nice bunch of paragliding pilots. It was awesome!

Amazing flights in the Turkish mountains, spectacular landings among glass kiosks and sunbeds, and completely magical evening flights over the sparkling Mediterranean Sea.

Now the batteries are fully charged!
