Uncle Henry´s Universe.

About the blog

I have no heavy training... Barely Elementary School. Preferred the wilderness, it became my university, but I got muddy boots and experience instead of School knowledge so my English was therefore quite inadequate. This blog is a project to improve my skills in English language.

We all have our own universe, welcome to visit mine.

New car.

PG / PPG Posted on Sun, October 06, 2013 20:17

Now I’ve
finally got hold of a car that accommodates the paramotor but it is a bit
special. Do not think I can live with the gold steering wheel, but has not the
heart to remove Betty from the bonnet! She makes me happy 🙂

Mature? Life
is too short, I don’t care…

It’s amazing to fit a complete engine aircraft in the trunk, along with
snacks, clothing, tools, extra paragliders and a lot of other things.

WANTED – Propeller!

PG / PPG Posted on Fri, September 20, 2013 12:07

I took a
relaxing evening flight yesterday along with four crane, some geese and one
golden plover. It was nice but over time it became quite chilly. The engine
purred like a cat while I froze like a dog.

Para motors
are very obstinate, requires infinite care, but only work when they want. It
therefore felt sad to go down for the landing when the engine was running so
nicely, but it all worked out by itself!

I suddenly
heard a sharp bang; it was the propeller that leaves for its own adventure
tour. Weird! And it would have been pretty scary if I had been in a sport
aircraft! But that’s the beauty with paramotor, when engine power is lost; you
still have a great glider.

I really
miss my propeller! It was costly and yielded impressive speed for my flight..

At last…

PG / PPG Posted on Sat, August 31, 2013 17:40

It’s been a
fantastic summer, far more pleasant than the last year that rained away. Much
effort and almost no free time, just like it used to be, but why complain, shovelling
out 50 tons of gravel’s also a pleasure, as well as …

The work
has been varied. Shovelling gravel for parking lots, cleared forests for new
sanctuary boundaries, inventory lichens, opened a new nature reserves etc. Now
it’s finally calm down. Weekends are free and can be used for purposes other
than work. This weekend was rainy and was a good fit for editing.

At last I
got ready video of the paragliding weeks in Turkey last year. (It took almost a
year to get it done … I’m lazy or what is wrong with me?)

Fat eagle rule!

PG / PPG Posted on Tue, March 12, 2013 19:40

Now enough
is enough with flying eagles against blue sky, while I just get to watch! Took
time off from work today. Long time since I last played with my paramotor and
trike with skis. Wonderful, though damn cold, but wonderful nonetheless …

Grayish, misty and a little snowfall currently give scope for other things than
tracing, no point searching for lynx tracks on profit and loss, better wait a
few snow-free days.

Has spent the last few days editing. Tested new
equipment at some videos from paragliding in Åre from september last year.
Wonderful to relive the great days of autumn and powerful flights. If you’re
wondering how it feels to be a paragliding pilot, start the video and join …

Tandem Fligth over Öludeniz!

PG / PPG Posted on Sun, September 23, 2012 14:50

Thanks to Oliver Thurmann who offered my wife a tandem flight, we were given the opportunity to fly paraglider together again, for the first time since the early nineties. The blue, white and orange paraglider is my Ozone Geo 2, a reliable friend when thermals shakes the fabric.

Some acro!

A little vacation.

PG / PPG Posted on Fri, September 21, 2012 10:32

Took off for a week and went to Oludeniz in Turkey with a really nice bunch of paragliding pilots. It was awesome!

Amazing flights in the Turkish mountains, spectacular landings among glass kiosks and sunbeds, and completely magical evening flights over the sparkling Mediterranean Sea.

Now the batteries are fully charged!

Backlash!

PG / PPG Posted on Tue, April 10, 2012 18:17

Typical April weather, 15 cm wet snow in the morning and heavy rain during the day. Wonderful! 🙂

Röjdälven, near our homestead.

No work today!

Browsing the Internet and find some fun around paragliding. Okay, attached link is two years old but I have not seen it before. I think it’s funny, hilarious, especially if one remembers their first steps as a beginner. Run into the wind! Run … Run … And if you think you understand how curious cows are thinking, it gets even better!
